Conference rooms of Liechtenstein

Big deals have different faces. Or excessively no face at all, as Barbara Bühler’s photographs Conference rooms of Liechtenstein show: People who are dealing with several million stay unknown for the viewer, the deal has no name.

The negotiation’s complexity - the structures, the flow of money and the influence of power disappears in little changes within the photographs. You can only guess what happened in the meantime. A moved chair, a used tumbler, a college block. The room talks, the subject of the talk still lingers in the air. People were here, doing business, agreeing ... or not. Nobody will ever know who was here, what has happened.
