FOKUS 2007: MUSIC

How do women filmmakers deal with music, sound and rhythm in form and content? In films concerning the topic music plays many roles: music as a political statement, a song as key to memories, portraits of musicians, rhythmic video experiments. 

The spectre ranges from folk to jazz, from the silent film to musical video-performances. 

The IFFF Dortmund | Cologne focuses especially on film music and international women composers. Some of them are going to visit the festival and present their music and their working methods. A main topic will be the cooperation between film composition and directing.
