Erika Stucky

In the meantime the concerts at femme totale are legendary. This time it is the Swiss vocalist Erika Stucky who takes the audience along on her brand-new Princess Tour. From her point of view this motto fits perfectly into this year’s festival topic: “Princess and Money, Money and Princess! It’s completely obvious. If you see a girl with a gold-embossed coronet, you automatically think: Ah-hah: rich!” To be a princess again at the age of 40. Why not? “On the music scene you can see a lot of royalties: Prince, Nat King Cole, Queen, the King Elvis Presley and the King of Pop. It must be something of a childish instinct that makes people want to be feted as kings and queens.” Inspired by Michael Jackson’s Bad and her first TV hero Mohammed Ali Stucky doesn’t huddle on the whitewashed and cute highness, but turns herself into an anarchistic princess: “I’m so bad, I make medicine bad.” Not smooth, but honest – like the singer herself. “I have left my princess as a bit of rough diamond as well.”
She brings specially produced 8mm films along. Her singing will be backed up by Jon Sass, playing the tuba, and Bertl Mütter on the trombone.
