This experimental film programme takes a
look at the relationship between pop and ego in four films and videos
of the last 30 years.
From the post apocalyptic
self-actualisations of the New York underground of the 1980s to the
grotesque face-off of an opera diva with her alter ego, eccentric
rituals of immediate identification with male star antics to the
antagonistic pathos of the Pittsburgh punk scene: music in these films
is a medium of radical difference created, inflated and analysed by
strategies of self dramatisation, reflection and projection.
Curated by Katrin Mundt.
