Discover the fabulous symbiosis of music and picture. Two programmes dive into the strange cosmos of music videos: flying dogs, the struggle with a wool thread, the mother of destruction, childish statesmen, a dance of the zombies, cosmetic emergencies, a water ballet with hands, the sad maiden or how to believe in Jesus. Music videos mimic and reflect social situations in their own way – with their particular laws of time and space.

Part I deals with the body and its staging, a recurrent subject of pop culture. Part II recapitulates the formal development of the unforgettable video aesthetic of the 80s to the emergence of different
genres and their crossover products. A choice of international music videos from 1984 until today with works of Floria Sigismondi, Kim Gordon, Laurie Anderson, Deborah Schamoni, Dawn Shadforth, Sophie Muller, Martha Colburn für Incubus, Sonic Youth, Chicks on Speed, Peaches feat.
